Respect for human health and the environment
Over the last few years, tanning operators have become more and more aware of the environment and the importance of using eco-friendly materials.

Since the early 1990s, Ausonia has been investing heavily in searching for non-polluting materials to use in the tanning and finishing processes of the hides.
Today, also made possible by the new establishment equipped with the most up-to-date, cutting edge and eco-friendly technologies, Ausonia has managed to limit all the polluting agents. By adopting a new production system it can offer a completely organic product that is easy to dispose of and recycle.

The Ausonia hides were tested by the “Experimental Station for the Leather and tanned material industry.” After conducting the necessary analyses on the hides, it was certified that only organic substances were used, without the use of dangerous chemical products and metals (chrome, aluminium, titanium, zircon).

What’s more, the hides respect the most common ecological criteria provided for by the national and international regulations and can be easily disposed of.

“Eco-friendly leather” labels are available to all Ausonia customers, manufacturers of bags, belts and small leather accessories, which certify and guarantee the natural characteristics of the product.
